Also, in your biography of General Thomas POSEY, another ancestor of mine, you did not have any information about his first wife, Martha MATHEWS. Martha was the daughter of Joshua MATHEWS and Martha ???. She was born in 1754 in Virginia and after the early death of her parents, was bonded to Sampson MATHEWS, her uncle, as guardian on August 22, 1722. Sampson and his brother George (later governor of Georgia) were Revolutionary War heroes.

I hope this information is of some help. I have been trying to find what happened to Reuben T POSEY after he apparently left New Mexico and his wife in about 1885 or so. Perhaps he died there, but I haven't found any records of his death. Letitia was apparently living in New Mexico with her daughter's family since she shows up in the 1900 Federal census for Socorro, NM. She died in Florida on 24 December, 1919 according to her death certificate.
