By Gleaner staff The eldest grandson of Adm. Husband E. Kimmel -- the Henderson native who was commander of the Pacific Fleet during the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor -- will speak at Wolf's Convention and Banquet Center this afternoon. Tom Kimmel, himself a 1966 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, will speak at 3:30 p.m. He is appearing at the invitation of the Henderson County Historical and Genealogical Society. Kimmel is a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve and served for more than 25 years in the FBI. After retiring from the FBI, Kimmel served as a consultant to the agency, addressing major spy scandals in the FBI and CIA. The appearance is open to the public at no charge.
