GRAVE CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH

The first known church organized in Henderson County, Kentucky, was Grave Creek Baptist Church in 1803. Services were held in homes of different members. The church got its name from Grave Creek, which ran through the southern part of Henderson County, which is part of Webster County now.

In 1807 the first records appear. Before erecting a worship building in 1815, (15 miles from the creek), the members met at the homes of the STREETS, WILLINGHAMS, KINGS, CHURCHES, McGRADYS, WELDONS, BARRONS, FAULKNERS and HOBBS.
