Calvin Roscoe Denton, son of Louis and Callie Denton was born in 1922. He served in the U.S. Army from 29 Sept 1942 till 26 June 1946 in the 289th Field Artillery Observation Battalion in the South Pacific.

Calvin was awarded the "American Theater Ribbon", "Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon" with 2 Bronze Stars, "Philippines Liberation Ribbon" with 1 Bronze Star and a "Good Conduct and Victory Medal". He was in the battles of New Guinea and Luzon. Calvin still resides in Henderson Co, Kentucky.
